MicroSkills-WERC Entrepreneur of the Year Awards competition is open to all graduates of MicroSkills-WERC Self Employment training program who have been operating their business for at least one year.
Selection Criteria
Nominations are judged using the following criteria:
- Successful business start-up
- Business growth
- Community involvement.

| The selection committee takes into consideration, factors such as the impact of MicroSkills-WERC training program on her life, positive changes that have occurred as a result of access to MicroSkills training and services; as well as any significant problems or barriers the nominee had to overcome in her steps towards economic independence.
Nominations will be judged by the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is made up of past graduates, members of the business Community and MicroSkills Staff.
Nominations
Award Recipients must be nominated.
Training group members may nominate their peers or themselves. Nominations will also be accepted from staff of MicroSkills-WERC and Business Mentors.
Award Presentation
Awards will be presented at MicroSkills-WERC annual gala event. It is important for the award recipient to be available for the gala event. Representatives from the business community, government, media, and community attend the event.
Application Deadline
Application must be received by January 1 of the nomination year for consideration. |
