Employment Counsellor/Job Developer

The Employment Counsellor/Job Developer has the overall responsibility for preparing Internationally Trained Individuals to the Canadian Labour Market and supporting them with employment opportunities. The Employment Counsellor /Job Developer works closely with employers, clients and MicroSkills staff to make the best possible match for clients and employers. In this specialized role, the Employment Counsellor/Job Developer will be working with the “Bridge to Employment Business Services Program” participants for employment purposes. In addition, the successful incumbent will identify employers who are hiring and match participants’ strengths with employers’ needs. The Job Developer works closely with employers, clients and MicroSkills staff to make the best possible match for clients and employers. Coordinator/Program Facilitator – Youth Services

The Microskills Youth Centre is seeking applicants for a Program Coordinator/Program Facilitator to implement the “North Stars Anti-Violence Program”. This two-year project is designed to reduce recidivism of adjudicated youth, prevent at-risk youth involvement in anti-social activities, increase employment and life skills, and improve community relationship between law enforcement officers and at-risk youth. Intake Counsellor/Program Associate

Provide customer service support to MicroSkills clients and staff, greet and assist clients according to their needs, answer all incoming telephone calls and direct them to appropriate individuals, provides information and orientation to walk-in clients, informs/orients potential clients and members of the public as to the organization’s services and programs, identifies service needs, barriers to settlement and assists clients with information and referral services, provides case management services to clients, updates clients’ files and data in organization’s and funders’ databases, reports program outcomes to Senior Management team, collects and analyzes clients and employers feedback information regarding the organization’s quality of service, provide general administrative office support for program staff, input standard letters, memos, and update relevant databases, maintain a safe, orderly and tidy work environment, researches community/employer resources, perform other duties as assigned.
