Women in Transportation Program
MicroSkills, in partnership with Humber College and the Rexdale Women's Centre, is offering a new skills training program for women who have experienced violence, or are at risk. This program is supported by the Ontario Women's Directorate through its Domestic Violence Employment Training initiative. The goal of the program is to assist women to develop marketable skills that enable them to achieve economic independence and live violence free.
The Women in Transportation Program will equip women with skills to become drivers of straight trucks and/or Tractor Trailers. Women who complete this program will acquire a DZ or AZ license, and be assisted to access driving jobs in private carriers, couriers or public transportation services.
Women who may be interested will possess the minimum qualifications: a valid "G" license and clean driving record.
