Youth and Children's Services

Launched in 2003, our Youth Services engages young people aged 13-29 in the Dixon and Kipling and surrounding neighbourhoods. We are open from 9am-6:30pm, Monday to Friday, and offers drop-in services, after school programming, social recreation programs, newcomer youth engagement and an employment resource centre.

MicroSkills Children's services provide child minding services for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. We offer a planned program of activities to help the children adapt to life in Canada, develop language skills, and have fun in a social setting.

Open Support / Community Connections

Drop-in support services are available to youth at the Youth Centre. The goal of the drop-in program is to provide support for youth to make positive choices in life as they look for a service or program, think about future goals, or consider alternatives for dealing with a personal issue.

Information and referral services are available to youth, as well as access to a telephone, computer, and fax.

This service provides youth with a supportive adult who will listen to them, work with them to assess their situation, recognize their strengths, and provide them with information and a connection to community resources or services as required.

Education & Career Exploration

This support program provides guidance and support to youth in identifying their goals, selecting education or training options and/or conducting a search for employment. Participants can also access one on one and group homework help after school to youth, as well as an opportunity to build their support networks. One-on-one service, group sessions and networking events.
